Today, March 5 is World Book Day and once again our students and staff have put in a great effort to celebrate books and reading. This morning, Junior School students in Years 3-8 came dressed as a favourite book character for a special World Book Day Reflection from the school librarian Mr Bull.
Then it was onto the World Book Day Bumper Book Quiz where students used their considerable book brains to answer dozens of questions winning housepoints for each correct one. For those who like to know the score Monte Rosa scored 7 correct to Matterhorn’s impressive 19! Only a handful of questions went unanswered.
The Year 7s and 8s were thrilled to get a second quiz today when they joined the Senior School students in our annual World Book Day 2020 Senior Literary Quiz in the Senior Library. It was run as a Kahoot Quiz for the first time and created a lot of excitement around books and reading.
Maleeto was the overall winner, followed closely by a super enthusiastic Miss Kettleborough with Hanna in a very close 3rd place.

World Book Day is a registered charity on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own. It’s also a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
